Bike The Whites DiningTours start on Tuesday at The Brass Heart Inn. The menu features a wide variety of appetizers and entrees and the vegetables and herbs are grown in the inn's very own organic garden. Enjoy an after dinner drink in The Boar's Head Pub, an English style pub adjacent to the dining room. On Wednesday, you will ride to The 1785 Inn
at the Intervale Scenic Vista overlooking the Saco River Valley up to
Mount Washington at a historical marker for the White Mountain School
of Art which often painted the view. The 1785 Inn was recently featured
on the New England Cable News' "TV Diner Show" which presented it as
one of the top six restaurants in New England for 2006 and called it
the ultimate in romantic elegance. At The 1785 you can start your meal
with one of the chef's delectable soups or an appetizer such as the
lobster crepe or smoked salmon ravioli. Popular entree choices include
Rack of Lamb; Raspberry Duckling; Shrimp Grand Marnier; Veal and
Lobster in a light buerre blanc sauce; or Lobster, Shrimp &
Scallops Provencal. However, be sure to save room for dessert. The
Inn's famous dessert tray features several award-winning offerings such
Coffee Buttercrunch Pie, Becky's Fresh Blueberry Pie, or Chocolate
Mousse on the Half Shell with Raspberry Sauce. It shouldn't be hard to
find a wine to accompany any course, since their wine list has received
the "Award of Excellence" from Wine Spectator Magazine for twenty
consecutive years.
On Thursday, you will ride to the Inn at Crystal Lake in the tiny village of Eaton. Recommended by the Boston Globe, the Inn at Crystal Lake's menu features New England Regional Cuisine using the freshest ingredients possible and local products when they are available. Each dish is prepared by inn owner/chef, Bobby Barker, to showcase the flavor and quality of the ingredients. Menus change seasonally, however on any given night, participants might start with a hearty homemade chili and then sample entrées such as Filet Mignon with Bleu cheese butter or Sea Scallops in a sage-sherry-mushroom cream sauce. If the timing is right, you might be there for one of the Inn's popular Opera themed dinners as highlighted on the Boston's television news show "Chronicle".
The final day's ride brings you back to your starting point at The Brass Heart Inn. | |||||
